Toyota named Best Resale Value Brand 4th year in a row by Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com

Want to get more bang for your buck? Look no further than Toyota.

The brand has long boasted a reputation for safety and reliability, and automotive research company Kelley Blue Book (KBB.com) shows that those qualities translate into tangible dollars. In 2024, Toyota was named the Best Resale Value Brand for the fourth year in a row and the seventh time in eight years due to its “stellar record.”

“If a vehicle has a strong resale value, it will be worth more when it comes time to trade,” KBB.com said. “This is a great way to reduce your overall vehicle expenses, something we can all use in these uncertain times.”

KBB.com also named which models across several brands best retain their value after five years — and five out of the top 10 are Toyotas!

Here’s a list of which Toyota models made Kelley Blue Book’s cut.

2024 Tacoma

KBB.com’s estimated 5-year resale value: 62.6%

First up is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma, which landed No. 2 on Kelley Blue Book’s Best Resale Value Top 10 list. This car retains a stunning 62.6% of its value after five years, the highest out of any Toyota!

The Tacoma was completely redesigned in 2024. One of its most notable new features is the i-FORCE Max powertrain option, which KBB.com dubs a “muscular hybrid.” This engine has more torque than its gas counterpart! Another exciting addition is the first-ever Tacoma Trailhunter, which is built for off-roading with specialized Old Man Emu® suspension, rugged 33-inch Goodyear® Territory® R/T tires, and more.

“They’ll stand up to a ton of punishment and then get you home — time after time,” KBB.com said of the various Tacoma trims.

2024 Tundra

KBB.com’s estimated 5-year resale value: 60.4%

Full-size trucks have “rabid brand loyalty,” according to Kelley Blue Book — but despite the extreme competition, the Tundra has earned its own fanbase. It ranks No. 4 on the KBB.com Top 10 list, retaining 60.4% of its value after five years.

The Tundra was redesigned just two years ago, offering a gas or hybrid powertrain option and the Capstone trim, Toyota’s first premium pickup truck. Its 2024 incarnation features the stylish Nightshade package, a factory 3-inch lift kit, a TRD Off-Road package for the Platinum trim, and more.

“For those who want a full-size truck for weekend chores, light towing, or just showing off, the Toyota Tundra fills the bill,” KBB.com said.

2024 GR Supra

KBB.com’s estimated 5-year resale value: 57.2%

Get ready to rev! The 2024 GR Supra, Toyota’s most well-known sports car, is now known for its value retention. Over five years, this vehicle is expected to keep 57.2% of its original value, landing it at No. 6 on the Kelley Blue Book Top 10 list.

This year marks the Supra’s 45th anniversary, hence a special edition marking the occasion. With just 900 units coming to the U.S., the 45th Anniversary Edition has 19-inch matte-black forged-aluminum wheels, a premium interior with leather-trimmed seats, special side graphics, and more. The vehicle’s regular trims remain, too, offering a turbocharged 2.0-L engine or a turbocharged 3.0-L 6-cylinder engine.

“The 2024 Toyota GR Supra coupe is made for the joy of driving, with great engines and a superb chassis,” KBB.com said

KBB.com’s estimated 5-year resale value: 55.3%

The 2024 Prius is unique for Kelley Blue Book. It placed No. 7 on the Top 10 list with a 55.3% 5-year retention value — but it was also part of a three-way tie for the Best Hybrid Car of 2024. (One of the other winners in the tie was the 2025 Toyota Camry, by the way!)

The Prius was fully redesigned last year, featuring a sporty external design, the most up-to-date safety system, and a new hybrid powertrain that can net up to 57 MPG combined. It also has six different trim levels, giving drivers a wide range of quality-of-life or luxury options.

“The Prius has always been a special car for Toyota, now it shines even more brightly,” KBB.com said.

KBB.com’s estimated 5-year resale value: 54.6%

Passionate about off-roading and towing? The 2024 4Runner is one of your best bets. And it will pay off well in the future, too, with a 5-year resale value of 54.6%. That lands it No. 8 on the Kelley Blue Book Top 10 list.

The 4Runner’s truck-inspired look, including a body-on-frame construction, sets it apart from other midsize SUVs. It also comes in a new color this year — Terra, an eye-turning red-orange.

“For over 40 years, the Toyota 4Runner has appealed to off-road enthusiasts, outdoor adventurers, and everyday drivers who want a bold and athletic SUV,” KBB.com said. “The 2024 Toyota 4Runner continues to bring all that in spades.”

2024 Sienna

KBB.com’s estimated 5-year resale value: 48.4%

Families have long chosen the Sienna for its reliability and efficiency. And now, they can choose it for its resale value, too: 48.4% over five years according to Kelley Blue Book.

As of 2021, all Sienna models are hybrids, making the minivan unique among its peers. And like other Toyotas, the Sienna comes in a variety of options, offering everything from an everyday people mover to the camping-oriented Woodland Edition.

“Families who have one just know: Nothing moves kids, parents, pets, and anything or anyone else quite like a minivan. And the Toyota Sienna is among the best of its breed,” KBB.com wrote.

2024 Sequoia

KBB.com’s estimated 5-year resale value: 47.2%

Last but certainly not least is the 2024 Sequoia, Toyota’s largest car on the market. In five years, Kelley Blue Book expects it to retain 47.2% of its value, leading the full-size SUV category.

Like the Sienna, the Sequoia also has a standard hybrid drivetrain. That came in the model’s big 2023 redesign, which also added an improved chassis, dynamic suspension, a modern multimedia system and a sliding third row with a cargo shelf!

“The Toyota Sequoia has all the hardware and software to be a big player in the full-size 3-row SUV class,” KBB.com said.
