Your one-stop shop for Toyota hybrids
April 2023
4 min read

There’s never been a better time to buy or lease a Toyota hybrid.

Toyota made history more than 20 years ago with the introduction of the Prius, the world’s first mass-produced hybrid. But today, a majority of Toyota models have a hybrid counterpart — and some models that used to be gas-powered are now hybrid-only.

But you may be asking, which ones have the best gas mileage? Which ones offer unique accessories? Which ones plug in, and which ones don’t?

We’ll answer all those questions and more in this one-stop shop. Let’s visit all the hybrids that Toyota offers in the Southeast to help you decide which one may be best for you.

Toyota Crown

Red and black bi-tone Toyota Crown
The 2023 Toyota Crown offers Toyota’s first bi-tone paint option, where you can choose between complementary colors like red and black.
In the 1950s, Toyota unveiled the wildly-popular Toyopet Crown. It was the company’s first mass-produced passenger vehicle and would become the first Japanese car ever sold in America.

Now in 2023, the all-new Toyota Crown lives up to the Toyopet’s legacy of innovation by offering a suite of cutting-edge features — including a standard hybrid powertrain.

The Toyota Crown introduces Toyota’s new Hybrid MAX powertrain, a performance-driven yet eco-conscious system. It also excels in style, offering Toyota’s first bi-tone paint option for complementary colors on the hood, rear, and body.

The 2023 Toyota Crown also includes:
  • Maximum 41 combined miles per gallon
  • Maximum 340 horsepower
  • Standard All-Wheel Drive
  • Toyota Safety Sense 3.0

Prius and Prius Prime

White Toyota Prius
The 2023 Prius and Prius Prime were redesigned from the ground up, adding a sporty flair to the vehicle.
Next up is a familiar face — the Prius, America’s favorite hybrid since its launch in 2000.

The 2023 Prius gives the old name a new look. With a low roofline, flared rear, and available 19-inch wheels, passersby might mistake this Prius for a sports car. But it keeps what drivers love the most — great gas mileage and improved safety systems.

The 2023 Prius’ highlights include:
  • 57 combined miles per gallon
  • An updated Electronic On-Demand All Wheel Drive system
  • Toyota Safety Sense 3.0
  • An available 12.3-inch touchscreen

The 2023 Prius Prime takes it a step further, offering plug-in capabilities for more electric power. With Prius Prime, you can now drive nearly 40 miles on electricity alone.

The 2023 Prius Prime’s highlights include:
  • An upgraded battery
  • An available glass roof with solar panels

RAV4 Hybrid and RAV4 Prime

Toyota Rav4 Prime in Supersonic Red
The 2023 RAV4 Prime comes in six colors, including Supersonic Red.
Next up are the RAV4 and RAV4 Prime. The 2023 RAV4 has five gas-powered trims and is also available in multiple hybrid versions throughout the Southeast.

The RAV4 Hybrid’s five models feature the same customization options as their gas counterparts, like weather packages and an available moonroof. And thanks to its advanced hybrid powertrain, the 2023 RAV4 Hybrid has even greater horsepower than non-hybrid models.

The 2023 RAV4 Hybrid’s highlights include:
  • 40 combined miles per gallon
  • 219 combined net horsepower
  • Standard All-Wheel Drive
  • Toyota Safety Sense 2.5

The 2023 RAV4 also has two plug-in hybrid electric options, known as the Prime. Like the Prius Prime, the 2023 RAV4 Prime can plug in for extra electrical capabilities.

The 2023 RAV4 Prime’s highlights include:
  • 94 MPGe (miles per gallon of gasoline-equivalent)
  • Up to 42 miles of fully electric driving range
  • 302 combined net horsepower
  • Toyota Safety Sense 2.5

Camry Hybrids

Toyota Camry
The 2023 Camry Hybrid does everything the gas-powered Camry does — just with a hybrid powertrain.
The Toyota Camry has been on the road since the ‘80s. But Toyota has also offered it as a hybrid since 2006, giving the classic sedan a twist.

The 2023 Camry Hybrid boasts five different models – including the ever-stylish Nightshade. Each builds on what its gas-powered partner offers, offering a boost of money-saving and eco-friendly hybrid technology.

The 2023 Camry Hybrid’s highlights include:
  • 46 combined miles per gallon
  • 208 net combined horsepower
  • Available 19-inch wheels
  • Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+

Corolla Hybrid and Corolla Cross

The 2023 Corolla Hybrid features available All-Wheel Drive, adding an extra layer of safety on snowy and rainy roads.
The Toyota Corolla has been around even longer than the Camry, first hitting American roads during the ‘60s. But it wouldn’t be offered as a hybrid until 2020, forever changing the Corolla lineup.

The 2023 Corolla Hybrid has continued to improve since its debut three years ago. It now has three trim levels, each fine-tuned with optimal weight distribution for a smooth drive.

The 2023 Corolla Hybrid’s highlights include:
  • 50 combined miles per gallon
  • 138 combined horsepower
  • Available All-Wheel Drive
  • Toyota Safety Sense 3.0

The latest addition to the Corolla family is the Corolla Cross, a sleek and compact SUV that first debuted in the 2022 model year. Smaller than the RAV4 but larger than the C-HR, the Corolla Cross is a sport utility vehicle built for those who need a little more space. Stay tuned for more details, as Corolla Cross will introduce a hybrid for 2023!

As of 2021, every Sienna is a gas-conserving hybrid, no matter the trim you choose.

2023 marks the Sienna’s 25th anniversary, and Toyota is celebrating with an all-new Special Edition trim. This Sienna is outfitted with black leather-trimmed seats with silver stitching, special badges, and floor mats. • 36 combined miles per gallon
  • Available All-Wheel Drive
  • Available hands-free power sliding side doors and liftgate

Bronze trim is available on the Highlander Hybrid only.
Imagine the best possible parts of a Highlander: spacious seating, 20-inch wheels, and a panoramic moonroof. Now imagine you can get all that with an efficient hybrid powertrain under the hood, too.

Thankfully, you don’t have to imagine because that’s the reality of the 2023 Highlander Hybrid. It is available with extra drive modes, too — like EV mode, which allows you to drive electric-only for short distances, or trail mode, which improves All-Wheel Drive capabilities. The 2023 Highlander Hybrid even features the XLE Bronze trim, which has 18-inch bronze alloy wheels and bronze stitching.

Other Highlander Hybrid 2023 highlights include:
  • 36 combined miles per gallon
  • Available All-Wheel Drive

Venza

Nightshade edition Toyota Venza
Toyota’s Nightshade vehicles are a popular pick for style-conscious drivers — and as of 2023, the Venza also offers a Nightshade trim.
Last on our list — but certainly not least — is the Venza. After a six-year hiatus, this vehicle was reborn in 2021 as an elegant, exclusively hybrid car.

The 2023 Venza now has a Nightshade edition with stylish features like 19-inch black alloy wheels and black roof rails. And like previous model years, the Star Gaze™ fixed panoramic roof is available, giving you control over light quality in your cabin.
